MINUTES
- Meeting
called to order at 10:15 a.m.
- Secretary's
report for 5-12-99 approved. Keim-Motion,
Palmer-Second
- Treasurer's
report approved. Heath-Motion, Keim-Second
- Approval
to pay the bill for damage to a door at the
Shanksville ballfield if guilt is not proven
against Berlin High School. Hall-Motion,
Emerick-Second.
- Approval
to pay costs of $195.00 to Ron Beachley for
expenses to the PIAA State Officials
Conference to be held in August.
- Ralph
Scott will be notifying each district school
to send him football schedules so he can set
up rankings and send schedules to District.
- Chairman
items from Board of Control meeting.
- Summer
work shop meetings will be covered by Mr.
Fisher and Mrs. Hall if the representative
of the sport is not able to attend.
- There
have been questions about the jewelry rule
in tennis. There is nothing in the
rulebook of the National Federation to
cover this or in the PIAA rules. The PIAA
is investigating this; but as of now there
is no rule.
- State
Volleyball Championships - Date changed to
November 11, 12 at Shippensburg
University.
- The
Dudley optic yellow softball that has been
used will continue to be used by schools
to use their supply.
- Football
contact camps - Approved on first reading
by PIAA Board of Control.
- Basketball
coaches allowed to stand to signal
time-out. Approved on first reading by
Board of Control.
- Tournament
Fees $50.00 fee must be paid if tournament
is not sponsored by the school, but by a
booster club, and if a non-PIAA school is
involved in the tournament.
- Rick
Emerick, School Board Representative, will
be leaving the Chestnut Ridge Board in
December 1999. He will remain on the
District Five Committee until that time when
a new representative will be selected.
- Each
sport chairman should have in their
materials that go to the schools the
following information: Dates, Conditions of
Entry, Ranking and Scoring, Reimbursement if
any, Ranking Sheets, No Protest Rule, Event
Admission Prices, Game Manager Fees,
Officials, Media Form, Awards Form, Pre
Playoff Meetings, Fannett Metal Rule, Web
Site for Ranking and Addresses.
- We
will attempt to place on the website this
summer all district dates, playoff formats,
team and individual state place finishes,
previous team and individual state place
finishes, and sport chairpersons.
- At
the August workshop we will discuss criteria
for recognition of coaches, officials and
athletes at the annual banquet.
- Meeting
Dates for the 1999-2000 School year were set
- dates on website.
- The
meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m.
